DOH: Frozen waffle brands sold in Hawaii recalled due to possible listeria contamination

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The Hawaii Department of Health is warning the public about multiple frozen waffle brands that are being recalled due to potential contamination by the listeria bacteria.
TreeHouse Foods, Inc. is recalling several brand names of frozen waffles — including Kodiak Cakes, Good & Gather and Great Value — that were sold at supermarkets and retailers in Hawaii.
Listeria infections can cause symptoms such as fever, severe headaches, nausea, diarrhea and other issues. The illness is most dangerous to pregnant women, newborns, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems, health officials said.
There have not been any confirmed reports of illness related to the recalled products.
DOH is urging consumers to check for the products on the FDA’s website and return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
