Vintage Gesso Cast Framed PA Grand Army of the Republic 19th C Blank Certificate

Description

UP for auction is an antique 19th century framed blank certificate from the headquarters of the Department of Pennsylvania Grand Army of the Republic Certificate of Service recently found at auction in the Lancaster County PA area.  It is found in good used condition with creases, matted and framed in a late 19th century gesso cast picture frame with original wavy glass.  New backing & eye hooks.  Could use a couple more brads to hold it all in.  Losses to the frame, particularly bottom edge and corners.  General Daniel H Hastings was the adjutant General of PA, to help date it.  Dirty glass, old sticker marks.
Interesting piece of Americana.
