    Philadelphia - Pontiled Green Slug Plate Squat Soda - P. DUROSS
    Here is circa 1850-1855 squat type soda or porter from Philly. Nice and crude with a rectangular slug plate and bold mold impression. It has an applied double taper top and a robust iron pontil bottom with residue (see pics).

    Condition:
    a recently privy-dug bottle that has only been rinsed out but which is pretty clean and with just spotty light wear. Only issue is that the top is chipped along one side from the lip through the collar (see pics). Still, a decent example of a Philly pontiled porter.
